Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 extends the Exchange Server product line with an extensive collection of new technologies, functions and services. The aim is to support users and organizations in changing their work habits, the focus of which shifts from communication to collaboration. At the same time, Exchange Server 2019 helps reduce the total cost of ownership - whether you're deploying Exchange 2019 on-premises or deploying your mailboxes in the cloud.

The Standard Edition of Exchange Server supports up to 5 mailbox databases, the Enterprise Edition of Exchange Server 2019 supports up to 50 mailbox databases and is therefore designed for larger organizations.

A separate server license is required for each running instance of Exchange Server. This applies regardless of whether the instance is running in the physical operating system environment or in a virtual operating system environment. An instance is considered to be executed when the server software has been loaded into the working memory and its instructions have been executed.

Intel CPU with x64 architecture. This must support the Intel 64 architecture "Intel EM64T". Alternatively, an AMD CPU is required which supports the "AMD64" platform.

RAM: at least 4 GB RAM (when accessed via the client), at least 8 GB RAM (mailbox)
Hard disk: At least 30 GB hard disk space on the drive of the Exchange installation
